Control Backflow Confidently
Packard's Drop-in Check Valve (DICV) is used to provide protection from backflow during periods when the drill string is left open or kicks are frequent.
Installed near the bottom of the drill string, a drop-in dart is pumped down to a landing sub where the dart automatically locks in position and prevents upward mud flow. DICVs are used to control kicks and not intended for continuous drilling.
Once the kick is controlled, a retrieval tool brings the dart back via wire line.
CUSTOMIZATION
DICV designs can be customized to optimize performance in your special operating conditions. Customizable options include different OD and ID sizes, thread connections, and material modifications for corrosive environments.
Packard's 022 thru 048 DICVs cover all drill pipe sizes. For shapes please reach out to our sales team.
